Describe your life

A close friend just posted the picture below and asked her friends to respond. I love these things and responded within the post but then I thought I felt so strongly about how I live my life that I should share it with all my friends...so here it is (fair warning, it's a little long) :

"Natalie Bell when people ask me how I'm doing my first response always is "l love my life". Not because my life is better than anyone else's but because I have free will."

"I choose what I do, where I go, who I spend time with but more important I CHOOSE how I react/respond to those things I can't control. So you see even in those moments I'm in control."

"It's extremely liberating and a complete mind set shift. I never blame anyone or anything for what happens in my life. I celebrate the wins and manage the losses either way I am in control."

"Now don't get me wrong, i myself am not perfect and sometimes things do get me down but it's momentary. I allow myself the time for short (very short) pity parties now and then BUT its knowing even in those moments I am in control of the outcome that pulls me up and out quickly."

"Trust me this didn't come overnight. Like anything else you have to train your brain and body to feel this way. I've often been close to being caught talking to myself in the mirror."

"That said, it's real and a powerful force in my life!"

We do what we do the way we do because we find purpose in everything we do. Don't limit yourself to a singular purpose, seek purpose in everything you do. You will be amazed at the incredible people you meet, relationships you form, things you learn and the results you have.

We are living proof. When people ask us "how are you" our only response is...."I love my life!" Saying anything less doesn't give credence to the overwhelming blessings in our lives.   #ilovemylife   #makedosomehow   #foreveryproblemthereisasolution #realpurposerealresults   #realpurposeliving

As entrepreneurs we see the world through a different lens. We see opportunity where others don't. Its extremely gratifying when others recognize and appreciate our clarity. Not everyone would have taken on our most recent project but we saw the potential. Now others are seeing it too! These are just some of the most recent comments from Facebook.

All of our business relationships are built on a mutual respect and admiration for each other. These sorts of amazing gestures just come natural to our team. We support each other in all of our endeavours. We are blessed to know and work with so many great people. #realpurposerealresults   #realpurposeproperties   #realpurposeliving

We usually talk about the importance of "looking behind the curtain" and more often than not, finding "bad" suff.  But its not always bad! Sometimes you find some really "good" stuff.  Recently, we went to insultate the front porch of our renovation project (because we are now going to heat it) - you should have seen the look on my face when I opened it up to find that it had already been done! We just added 100 sq ft of cozy living space for this lucky soon to be new home owner. #realpurposerealresults   #doitrightthefirsttime #honorableprocesses   #comingsoon

Teaching my son Jackson how to "do it right" and with purpose. These little guys were leaking like sieves a week ago, now they are nothing but a distant memory. Going to keep our new homeowners heads and basement high and dry by making sure all rain water is draining away from their new home.   #realpurposerealresults   #doitrightthefirsttime #dontcutcorners   #makingboysintomen

Don R. Campbell from REIN constantly speaks about "looking behind the curtain"...this is why! I'm still amazed at the things we find. First two pictures represent the "before" and the bottom picture on the represents "after". Our team of tradespeople are true professionals.

Thank you Jeff Andres  from West Water Plumbing, your amazing work on this complete disaster of a job! Contact Jeff for all your plumbing needs. He's a straight shooter and a consummate professional.

Watch the video.

As a real estate entrepreneur, each day can reveal something new. Some would simply hope that the sun was shining when prospective homebuyers came to view their property. Not us. At Real Purpose Properties we finish every property as if we were for our own family. Not in the budget but they will be replaced.   #realpurposerealresults

One year ago we purchased our first investment property and created Real Purpose Properties. We've now grown to 7 properties, 12 doors strong, flips on the go, subdividing land and new builds breaking ground soon!

We couldn't have done it without our families old and new friends and business partners. Thank you for your support

If you are new to real estate investing - make sure you are working with an experienced mentor! If you are partnering with an real estate entrepreneur - make sure you are working with one that is experienced!

It is a cardinal sin for investors not to be prepared or knowledgeable about the home buying process, but new figures point out that a third (32 per cent) of first-time investors admit to just that.

The survey, published by the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO), also found that 26 per cent of investors wished they had a better grasp of the buying process, 21 per cent wished they had looked at more properties and 14 per cent wished they had a better understanding of the contracts involved.

Other findings include:
  • 43 per cent said there were sections of the real estate contract when they bought or sold a home that they did not fully understand.
  • 36 per cent mistakenly think that after a real estate contract is signed, a buyer or seller has a trial period during which they can cancel it, and an additional 33 per cent said they do not know.
  • 55 per cent incorrectly believe that if you place a conditional offer on a home and the deal doesn't proceed, you automatically get your deposit back.
"Signing your name on the dotted line is not something to be taken lightly when you're dealing with binding contracts for significant values, so we encourage home buyers and sellers to be comfortable with the details before they sign anything,” says Joseph Richer, RECO registrar.

I don't want to ever discourage anyone from following their dreams but there are too many "get rich quick" real estate seminars flying through Winnipeg teaching (use the term loosely) wanna be investors that investing in real estate is easy. Truth is its more than a full time job and if you don't commit to continuous learning and find an experienced mentor, as the attached article suggests, you will fall into the 1/3 of people that are unprepared for the buying process.

This month marks one year since we became real estate entrepreneurs and started Real Purpose Properties Inc.

Both Jamie and I have busted our tails and have acquired 6 properties in just under 12 months. I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 35 and vowed never to put anything on my body unless it had deep personal meaning to me. So far I have portraits of my 2 boys ("My Life"), a portrait of my dad ("My Hero") and now this.

One of my favourite Tony Robbins quotes that I recite/read everyday. It's my mantra. But not because I'm selfish; rather because my life has Real Purpose and that purpose is to make this quote a reality for not only myself but also for all my friends and family. I love my life, my family and my friends!

Now let's achieve SUCCESS together!
